![]() You might not have even finished reading this because you are already addicted. You might have already downloaded it by the time you finished reading this. So if you didn’t know what Angry Birds was before, you probably do now. Still, these knock-offs are all fun and worth a peek. Really the only differences that you can see other than the fact that it has far less levels than the original (only 30 at the moment) are the use of farm animals instead of birds and a target of foxes instead of pigs. ![]() As if the name isn’t bad enough, gameplay is almost identical. However, perhaps the most blatant rip-off can be found here. Like WP7, Angry Birds has yet to be ported to RIM's BlackBerry OS. Make sure you check out the game's trailer – it is epic! Take our word when we say these knock-offs are good fun. Another popular game in Angry Birds fashion found on iOS also features one of the longer game names you’ll run into. As you can already tell, the goal is to destroy all skulls on the level by ramming monster trucks into them. If you get tired of bright colors and cute fuzzy animals, then try Trucks and Skulls. There is also a game called Bullistic, in which herds of bulls are launched one by one at a porcelain shop in an effort to cause as much damage as possible to the misfortune of the poor shop owner. Its story goes like this: the good guys launch themselves off a cannon at armies of evil robots. The first is called Cannon Cadets and features 80 challenging levels plus its very own level builder. There are several games available in the App Store that are similar to Angry Birds and are worth being given a shot. We’d like to tell you about some of the copycats in the event that you get bored of Angry Birds, or if you race through the newest levels faster than the game can be updated and just itch for something more.Īngry Birds first came to those with an iOS device such as the Apple iPhone 4. None of the rip-offs seem to beat Angry Birds in popularity, but many of them are still pretty damn cool. Still, if you're into the genre and don't mind playing a copycat then you might want to check this one out it's not bad at all, just totally unoriginal. What made Angry Birds stand out and go viral is that it picked all the best features of its archetypes, twisted them around, and implemented them into this addicting bird-tossing video game that we know and love today. It's one thing to copy another title's mechanics and add your own flavor, but it's a fine line and this is a title which doesn't walk it very well. PvNvZvP is a bit of a polarizing game because even though it can be rather entertaining, it's also basically plagiarizing a more popular game. It won't please those gamers who merely want to destroy everything and leave forts in a pile of rubble, but players looking for a little more strategy will be pleased. Also, many levels have friendly characters stationed amongst the enemies, so rather than going for wanton destruction many stages call for controlled demolition. For one, in PvNvZvP players are allowed to choose which of their characters they want to fire next, so if you need a ninja right now but don't want to burn through two zombies to get to him then you can just tap and swap which character fires next. Where this game is different from Angry Birds is in how the levels are set up and how players can attack the situation. ![]() The less we say about the farting panda the better actually. there's a bomb-dropping zombie and a mach-speed ninja which can be used to cause a ruckus, in addition to other characters like the fire-spreading pirate and farting panda. Of course the various characters used also have power ups which can be activated by, you guessed it, tapping on the screen. Players aim the cannon and then let fly, and are scored at the end of each round on a scale of one to three stars based on accuracy, effectiveness and general destruction caused. Much like the game it seeks to imitate, PvNvZvP is all about attacking structures in order to cause enough mayhem and destruction to thwart the enemies hiding inside. In spite of drawing rather heavy "inspiration" from Angry Birds, the awkwardly abbreviated PvNvZvP still manages to be fun, even if you've seen it all before. Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies vs Pandas cribs so heavily from Rovio's physics-based puzzle game you can be forgiven if, upon first booting it up, you think it's just a reskinned expansion. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery then the Angry Birds should be positively blushing right now.
